Hole #1
An accurate drive is required for this picturesque opening hole as large pine trees flank both sides of the fairway. A mid iron to a generous green that gently slopes towards you completes this classic prologue.

A solid long iron to a large green presents a real test as a substantial front bunker protects the Championship pin. There is plenty of green and bale out area on the right for the faint hearted. Do not be deceived by what looks like a flat green.
Hole #3
A challenging par four requires a solid drive and a mid iron to a subtle green. Select the club into the green carefully as the out of bounds fence is only 20mtr left of the target.

There is a real need to keep your drive in play if you seek success on this ascending par five, back it up with a fairway wood or long iron to position. The shot into an unsighted, multi tier green is tricky (Check the pin location when you walk down the first). You have now got the blood flowing!!

Keeping it straight is the key to this short one, US Open rough protects the front of the green for those that wish to have a go. Select a wedge for the shot into a well-bunkered green. Don't get too cute if the pin is down the front as the bunker is deep.

A straight forward par three with a well bunkered elevated green that possesses most of the challenge on this hole.
Hole #7
Slightly right of centre is required from the tee to open up this dog leg left, a short to mid iron in from a lie that slopes away from you provides the enough challenge. It may look it but the green is not flat.
Hole #8
Don't let the yardage fool you on this uphill par four "it is the hardest hole on the course" A good drive sliding from left to right will see you with a mid to long iron in to an elevated and well bunkered green. Take one club more than you think.
Hole #9
Keep your drive on the short stuff and you will not encounter too many problems until the shot into a challenging green that slope's away from you. Down hill all the way.

Steer left of the fairway bunker on this inclining dogleg right, A short to mid iron in once you have established the pin position on this dual tiered classic.
Hole #11
An advantage if you can slide your drive from left to right against the terrain, follow it up with a long iron or fairway wood for a chip to the green. Don't be fooled by the rating.

An accurate drive is required into the dale which leaves you with a challenging mid iron shot to a target that will test your ability to read greens. "Enjoy the view".

A straightforward par three with a generous opening in front, but miss it left or right and the significant bunkers will make life difficult.
Hole #14
Keep your drive straight as this is the tightest driving hole at Heidelberg, a fairway wood to position and medium iron to the green, once the longest par five in Victoria and much affected by the prevailing winds.
Hole #15
Keep your tee shot out to the right to open up this slight dogleg left, a mid to short iron from an elevated position requires accuracy and distance control for the desired result. Be careful the green is a real sleeper.
Hole #16
Distance from the tee is paramount for a look at the green through the pine trees on this dogleg left, a long elevated green makes club selection a challenge. "A real members favourite."
Hole #17
A mid to long iron needs to be struck well if you are to hit the challenging putting surface on this new gem especially if the pin is tucked away to the right over the lake and the bunker.
Hole #18
An advantage if you can draw the ball on the last tee shot for the day, a mid iron will see you reach a putting surface that graduates from rear to front with challenges for all.
