Heidelberg Golf Club Local Rules

To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and any Temporary Local Rules)

Out of Bounds

a) All ground beyond the club's boundary fence and/or beyond white stakes with black tops is out of bounds. b) The clubhouse, car park and roads adjoining the car park are out of bounds.

Staked Trees & Shrubs (including guard/stake)

If a staked tree or staked shrub interferes with a players stance or the area of their intended swing, the player MUST take relief as provided in Rule 24-2b (1). The ball may be cleaned when lifted. The stakes (and/or guards) are immovable obstructions.

Fixed Sprinkler Heads

All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played interferes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows:

If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which:

a) is not near the hole b) avoids such intervention c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green

Power Lines

If a ball strikes a power lines at the 5th, 10th or 14th holes, the player must disregard the stroke, abandon the ball and play another ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played in accordance with Rule 20-5.

Immovable Obstructions

The following objects are defined as immovable obstructions. Rule 24-2 applies.

a) SEC pylons

b) All stakes defining water hazards, ground under repair and staked trees/shrubs.

c) The access road adjacent to the power lines and continuing up the rear of the 12th tee.

d) All formed pathways adjacent to teeing grounds. NOTE: Hoops placed to protect areas of the course are movable obstruction, but must be replaced.

Water Hazards

Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes and/or lines. Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes and/or lines. NOTE: The stakes are immovable obstructions.

Ground Under Repair

The following areas are defined as Ground Under Repair. Rule 25-1 applies.

a) Those area the margins of which are defined by white stakes, white lines, GUR signage and accompanying rope.

b) All defined garden beds.

NOTE 1: Players must take relief from all defined garden beds any areas marked "GUR - Play Prohibited" NOTE 2: All GUR stakes and signs are immovable obstructions.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE

  • Stroke Play - 2 Strokes
  • Match Play - Loss of hole
