Course Care & Etiquette
When playing any round of Golf, all golfers have a responsibility to care for any course that they play on. This responsibility includes the following requirements:
Course Care
Repair All Divot Holes
It is mandatory that players carry a sand bucket and use sand as required to repair any divot holes taken during play (including tee shots on par 3 holes) in the following manner:
| |
| 1. Un-repaired Divot | 2. Fill with sand from bucket or dispenser attached to buggy | 3. Level with foot or club |
| |
| 4. On the road to repair | 5. Careless repair can provide an unfair lie for those following the damage | 6. Replacement of Displaced turf in Divot Mark |
If sand buckets are not available or your club prefers the displaced turf to be replaced in the divot hole, this should be undertaken by replacing the turf in the divot hole and pressing down firmly with a foot or club.
In taking practice swings, players should avoid causing damage to the course, particularly the tees, by removing divots.
Repair All Ball/Pitch Marks and Other Damage on Putting Greens
Regardless of a ball's finishing position, all players must repair any pitch mark made by their ball on a putting green or green surrounds. On completion of the hole by all players in the group, damage to the putting green caused by golf shoes (such as spike marks) must be repaired.
The recommended method to repair pitch marks using a pitch mark repair fork or a tee is as follows:
| |
| 7. Commence at the back of the pitch mark and put forward with pitch mark fork or tee | 8. Attend to each side of the pitch mark, easing the turf forward to replace the damaged area | 9. When undertaking the repair, turn the pitch mark fork towards the ball mark |
| |
| 10. Do not lift pitch mark fork or tee upward bringing the soil to the surface | 11. Complete the repair by tapping down with a putter |
