Junior Golf
Heidelberg Golf Club has a comprehensive junior program. The purpose of the program is to introduce young people to the wonderful world of golf. The programe provides opportunities for non-members to participate.
Junior Development Committee
This Committee was established in August 2003 with the following objectives:
- encourage and promote junior golf within the club
- introduce incentives for juniors to join the club and remain members
- foster a spirit of camaraderie within the group
- organize competitions and social activities for all junior members
- to assist in a variety of ways with help to attend outside competitions
Heidelberg Golf Club has a comprehensive junior program. The purpose of the program is to introduce young people to the wonderful world of golf. The programe provides opportunities for non-members to participate.
The age group for juniors is 12 to 21 years. Junior members receive free tuition on the first Saturday of each month with special programs provided throughout the year. The Heidelberg Golf Club acknowledges and thanks the Victorian Golf Foundation for its continued support.
Competitions for junior members are held each month with special events during school holidays. Special events for juniors include the Bruce Harding Junior Matchplay event; HGC Junior Tournament (Junior Ivo Whitton) and the Club Junior Championship. HGC Colts play in VGA Division 2 and in addition, the club has two sides in the VGA Under 18 Pennant competition.
The Club is proactive in encouraging and supporting junior girls into its ranks.
