Head Teaching Professional - Mark Stephens

Mark is a five-year teaching professional who considers himself a career coach. Mark continues to play the local Pro-Am circuit as a matter of personal pride to keep his own golf game sharp and to stay in touch with the pressures associated with competition golf.

Short Game
As a player, Mark set a PGA record equalling 21 putts in the 2007 Claremont Pro-Am underlining his ability to get the ball up and down ‘from the rubbish bin'.

Mark's dedication to the short game is highlighted by his study and research in this most important area of the game. He has a great understanding of the methods employed by short game gurus Dave Pelz, Stan Utley and Pete Cowen and has managed to filter his knowledge to his students in an easily understandable manner.

Mark's research into effective putting methods has led to some eye opening - or more correctly eye closing, outcomes and he is more than happy to pass on this knowledge in a putting lesson.

Women's Focus
Mark has had much success with lady golfers, particularly in a group scenario in both the short and long games. His 5-week clinics have been very popular due to their relaxed yet informative nature.

Junior Development
As a junior coach, Mark is a regular with both beginners and promising players. He has coached at VGA development camps and works one on one with promising juniors in the area.

Club Fitting
Mark is a qualified Titleist Performance Institute instructor. TPI identifies the physical nature of the game and the strengths and limitations that golfers possess.

Club fitting is an area that Mark is passionate about. Mark has seen the massive impact an accurate club fitting experience can have on a golfer. In addition to woods and irons, Mark is an expert fitter in wedges and putters and can create a set makeup for you that will enhance your strengths and scoring opportunities.

An excellent communicator, Mark has the ability to make the golf swing seem uncomplicated and simple.

Accredited Level One Coach - Jan Wallis  

Jan has been accredited as a Level One Coach for Beginner Women.  Her main teaching skills are in the basic techniques for beginners such as grip, stance, swing and the all important short game skills - chipping and putting. Jan also helps her students better understand the basic equiette fundamentals of the game - all in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with other ladies learning the game on a similar level.

Come & learn golf with the Ladies
Jan offers one-on-one individual tuition, and group lessons. There is a regular clinic on  Saturdays between 1.30pm-2.30pm. Additional group sessions are available as required. All ladies welcome.
